Box with white interior appears black from hole in the side. Black body radiation: No surface is ideally black. The closest approach is shown by means of a small opening in the walls of a closed container. The energy entering the opening is absorbed by the interior walls. With lid open, the interior appears bright. With lid closed, the interior appears dark. TEMPERATURE AND EXPANSION.
