diagram for demo

Vacuum Cannon. Tube is 4ft long with caps being closed off on either end by clear packing tape. When the tube is evacuated, the tape is punctured and the incoming air propels the ping pong ball through the tape on the opposite end towards the aluminum can target. Speeds of up to 287m/s can be achieved. This gives a muzzle KE of the ping pong ball equivalent to or greater than a .22 caliber handgun. FLUID STATICS
