Driven standing waves with different mass/unit length strings.
• B+50+90

Two strings of highly dissimilar mass per unit length are driven into motion with vibration at one end and a hanging mass at the other. Different numbers of modes are visible on both strings. This effect is obvious but the demo is small so a camera should be used to illustrate it to a large classroom. With a 200 g mass providing tension 3 nodes are visible on the heavy string, 1 on the light.
