Various different examples of levers can be set out. Levers come in 3 types; first class levers change the direction of force and can have any mechanical advantage. Second class levers always have a mechanical advantage greater than one and reverse the direction of force. Third class levers have a mechanical advantage less than one and change the direction of the force.
