Eight-prisms, different index of refraction, same angle, using laser.
• E+50+10

A set of 8 prisms, all equilateral (60 deg ) but with different indices of refraction, are mounted on a tray so that they can slide back and forth in front of the laser beam. As the beam moves from one prism to the next, the deflection angles change according to the index of refraction of the prisms. See figure 1. The index of refraction is sufficiently different between the prisms to allow for measurements and calculations. This demo is set up in the same manner as X. In fact, the prism trays are interchangeable on the optical bench. Thus, two demonstrations can be done in the set, if desired. Eight prisms, different index of refraction, same angles, using laser.
