Shear: Foam block. Soft foam block with masonite top and bottom (before deformation.) Soft foam block (after deformation.) A soft foam block is sandwiched between two masonite boards. The device is clamped to the table. A string is attached to the top board. The string goes horizontally over a pulley and is attached to various weights. The foam block shears horizontally.
