Reflection of microwaves off an aluminum plate. A 3 cm. microwave transmitter and receiver are mounted as shown on separate moveable arms. The transmitter beams 3 cm microwaves towards an aluminum plate mounted on a rotatable drum. The receiver makes a tone when it detects reflected microwaves, and it also displays the signal amplitude on the multiammeter. The angle between the arms can be adjusted, and the metal plate can be rotated so that the receiver gets the maximum reflection. The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection.
